Seattle-based sailor, writer and organizer of things
I am currently the online managing editor at independent public radio station KNKX. I joined the station, which provides the community with jazz, blues, NPR and regional news, in 2022.
Previously, I spent six years at GeekWire, an independent technology and business news site based in Seattle. I held a variety of roles and worked on events, marketing, membership, advertising, finance, HR and most recently was editorial operations director.
During my time on the waterways of the Pacific Northwest, I’ve observed how environmental, political and commercial concerns cross paths and collide. I began to wonder what the future may hold for the various stakeholders of this maritime community.
Through the Craig Newmark Graduate School of Journalism’s Entrepreneurial Journalism Creators Program, I developed a plan for launching Future Tides, a new media venture to serve the recreational and professional mariners who share the waterways in Washington State.
